What is Stomach Cancer?

Gastric cancer, medically known as gastric cancer, is the fourth most common cancer in the world and the second most common cause of death. There are geographical differences in the frequency of gastric cancer. Its incidence varies greatly in relation to the dietary habits of the countries.

General Surgery (Oncology, Endocrine)

I was born in Bilecik, in 1965. I completed my primary education at Bilecik Malhatun Primary School. In 1983, I graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School.

After graduation from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1989, between October 1989-March 1995, I had my General Surgery residency in the General Surgery Department of the same institution.

I started my professional career as an assistant professor in Başkent University Faculty of Medicine in 1997. Until November 2022, for more than 27 years I had been working in the same university; I was appointed as an associate professor in 2000 and as a professor in 2007.
